1/2 Day Lesson - 1/2 Day on Your Own

Learn the essentials of ice fishing in the morning (see custom lessons). Then, test your skills and spend some alone time with your fishing companions in the afternoon! Your instructor will meet you at the end of the day to wrap up and help fillet your catches.

Lessons will take place in a heated tent on the ice.
All fish caught will be released.
In this introductory course, you will learn the skill set required to fish with confidence when out with others. You will learn to use gear, tie knots, handle bait & tackle confidently and use a hand auger. You will learn to remove a fish from the hook and release it safely back into the lake. These techniques will increase your chances of success on the ice and impress your fellow anglers!

This course is designed to help you get set for a day of fishing without the support of others. You will learn to select a spot, set up a tent, power auger holes, choose appropriate gear, tie additional knots, and use an ice flasher. After this day, you will be set for success on your first solo adventure.
